LEONARDO CORPORATION- REPORT AS OF JANUARY 20 2026
The manufacturing and the deliveries of the Ecat, initiated a month ago, continue after some technological issues have been resolved.
The delivery for the time being will be focused on big industrial plants. The delivery of small assemblies is not taken into consideration so far; the MW assemblies are more reliable in the SSM regime, for many reasons.
Surely the price per Watt will be increased substantially, and this is also due to the devaluation of the dollar and continuing inflation. Consequently, the price per kW is presently around $4,000, a price that is competitive for industrial applications; the SSM (self-sustain mode) can be reached more easily with high power assemblies.
Although the Ecat could be used also in households to make heat, the COP being relevant especially for the production of heat, the Global Licensee does not yet want to expose the technology to the reverse engineering that would surely occur with the diffusion of cheap small assemblies. Anyway, also the small assemblies will be eventually delivered.
